Focus Groups
The Skilled Training in Administration and Institutional Research (STAIR) program is inviting research administrators (all experience levels) and early career faculty to join a paid focus group to help design a new professional development curriculum.
About STAIR
STAIR is developing a modular, open-access curriculum that equips research administrators with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support faculty in all stages of the research process. This innovative program aims to strengthen research infrastructure—particularly at under-resourced institutions—by offering flexible, inclusive, and practical training.
Why Participate?
Your insights will directly inform the design and content of the STAIR curriculum. By sharing your experiences and reviewing draft modules, you’ll help ensure the training reflects real-world challenges and best practices across diverse institutional contexts. Your contribution will be acknowledged in the final (open access) training modules.
What You'll Do
- Participate in a total of 20 hours of virtual small-group discussion with peers
- Review and discuss draft curriculum modules
- Offer feedback and suggestions based on your experience
- Contribute practical examples that can be incorporated into the curriculum
Who Should Join
You are eligible to participate if you are:
A research administrator at any level
OR
An early career faculty member in any discipline with research expectations and interest or experience in seeking external funding
