Subject Matter Experts
Each year, we reach out to members of this group to gauge their interest and availability in serving as paid consultants on team-based projects. These projects focus on supporting collaborative teams by contributing to grant proposal sections such as budgets, compliance, broader impacts, assessment, etc.

How to Join as Subject Matter Expert
Join our interest group to be notified about upcoming opportunities as a paid consultant on our team-based projects. We welcome your knowledge and expertise.
What You'll Do
Provide consulting, mentorship, training, and overall guidance to RAs, faculty, and students from under-resourced universities
Provide paid consulting services on team-based projects
Review and discuss portions of the proposal
Offer feedback and suggestions based on your experience
Contribute practical examples and templates
Benefits
Your expert contribution to projects will be acknowledged on the STAIR website and all pertinent STAIR communications
You will qualify for support to attend and receive STAIR annual recognition awards. The in-person awards program acknowledges RAs who have contributed most to STAIR (team-based consulting, curriculum input, evaluation, mentorship, etc).
You will be eligible to apply for the travel awards offered by STAIR to attend professional conferences (conference registration and attendance).

Adding your information to this list does not guarantee selection or commit you to any work. However, it allows us to consider you for opportunities as they arise. We estimate forming 5-6 teams per year, typically requiring 4-5 subject matter experts per team.
